University of Toronto Scarborough – Environmental Science and Chemistry Building

Location: Ontario – Greater Toronto

Market Sector: Education

Delivery Method: P2, Design-Assist

The University of Toronto Scarborough broke ground on October 8, 2013 for a new technologically advanced Environmental Science and Chemistry Building. The new building includes office/administration space as well as science labs.

DMC Mechanical fabricated and installed the ductwork for all heating and cooling ventilation systems, as well as exhaust systems throughout this state-of-the-art, 5-storey building. Ductwork was pre-fabricated at DMC’s shop and assembled on site.

Our deep experience in science laboratories came to bear on this project, which features fully exposed, stainless-steel ductwork that required special care during fabrication and installation.

The project is scheduled for completion in June 2015, and will be the first building at the University of Toronto to receive LEED Gold certification.
