2016 Holiday Fundraising

Modern Niagara employee-driven initiatives have raised funds and awareness for a variety of community based organization this holiday season.

mncalgary_aarcs2016_500pxCalgary: Wine Basket Challenge for AARCS

In Alberta, our Wine Basket Challenge raised $1465 for AARCS (Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society). Employees donated over 40 bottles of wine and created three wine-gift prizes for raffle. Volunteers from AARCS volunteers attended our Christmas Potluck and Gift Exchange in Calgary, bringing rescued puppies and kittens, and two Modern employees in turn adopted one of each. The raffle winners were:

  • 1st Place: 24-Bottle Wine Sleigh – Christine Pollard
  • 2nd Place: 11-Bottle Keepsake Wine Box – Gale Gillespie
  • 3rd Place: 9-Bottle Keepsake Wine Box – Heather McNutt

In Toronto, Modern employees supported the York Regional Police “Holiday Hero” toy drive in District #4. In addition to donating a large amount of unwrapped toys for kids aged 0-17, they held a 50/50 draw raising $1598.00. Modern Niagara matched that number and donated a total of $3200.00 to this great initiative.

Ottawa: Kanata Food Cupboard

In Ottawa, Modern Niagara employees undertook a food and toy drive for the Kanata Food Cupboard, as well as volunteering their time at the cupboard.

We’re proud to support our local community organizations – and especially proud of our caring, community-oriented staff who live our Core Values through initiatives that give back to their communities.
