Niagara Health System

The Niagara Health System provides a full spectrum of services, including actue care; surgical, emergency, and urgent care; kidney and complex care; mental health and addiction support; long term care, and cancer care​.

We successfully coordinated the mechanical construction of this large hospital complex through our design-build services, which included plumbing, HVAC, medical gas, and fire protection systems.

To meet tight timelines, we pre-fabricated the air handling unit pipe racking and facilitated the installation of heating mains in mechanical fan rooms — all prior to the overhead structural installation.

The mechanical system design is sustainable, including free cooling, a heat recovery chiller, a high-efficiency boiler plant, and enthalpy wheels to efficiently remove as much as 85% of heat and moisture from the air.

The project is achieved LEED-NC Silver certification and was awarded the Toronto Construction Association’s “Best of the Best Award – Project Achievement (large Project)”.​​
