The Royal Conservatory of Music

​The Royal Conservatory of Music envisioned a teaching and performance environment commensurate with its standing as one of the premiere establishments for music in Canada. We performed the new mechanical construction as well as a mechanical retrofit of the existing historical building.

We provided completely new mechanical services for an existing historical structure while at the same time building a new structure required exceptional project management. For example, the HVAC construction required air handling equipment larger than any opening into the building, Our solution was to rig the equipment into the mechanical space in pieces and reassemble it on site.

To meet the new facility’s strict noise criteria, we worked closely with consultants. In addition to providing a world-class teaching and performance facility, the new conservatory is the first building in North America with NC 0 sound rating criteria​.​​
